UMSLV’s 11th Annual General Meeting
Thanks to those ladies who attended our event today.
It was a great opportunity to showcase all the wonderful things UMSLV has been able to accomplish in the last 12 months and the various projects and partnerships that have been formed with community organisations.
Thank you Arfa Sarfaraz for your tireless commitment to helping UMSLV with all the various projects and accessing funding support.
We are very grateful to have a President so dedicated.
We have some wonderful new additions to the committee (more info on that another time
).
).It was fantastic to hear from our 2 wonderful guest speakers as well…
Sister Raneem shared her personal experiences from her time in Palestine last year…
Sister Khatija (our former VP) shared wonderful personal stories focused on connection, trust and community involvement.
So many gold nuggets in both ladies speeches.
Heartfelt and so well spoken! Jazakallah ladies.
Finally, Khatija shared that she is stepping away from the Vice President role with UMSLV. She shared that it is time to listen to her body, a lesson for all of us to take away – stop doing too much and DO put ourselves first
We sincerely hope we have more sisters attend next time we have an event on.
Together we are strong.
Again, thanks to Aisha, Yumna and everyone who made the year so successful.
A special thanks to Farhat Firdous for being the election officer today as well.
Salaams and love to all.
