Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim(PBUH). Muslims around the world observe this event. The Muslim community celebrated Eid-ul-Adha on the 24th of September 2015 in the Federation University Lounge.
UMSLV arranged an Eid-ul-Adha family reunion in Drouin Civic Park on the 11th of October. Muslim families from Pakenham and around the Gippsland area from Warragul, Traralgon, Morwell and Churchill participated in the event.
The event started with delicious food: Afgani Kebab, Nan, Bangladeshi Byriani, Pakistani byriani, Pizza and Indian tandoori chicken with bread. Muslim family from South Africa and Middle East also brought their own delicious desserts and drinks to share.
It was a special day for children. They enjoyed cricket, badminton, cycling, running down the hill and many more. Dads with their big boys played a soccer tournament.
