Global Women’s Peace Ambassador Award
Congratulations to UMSLV President Arfa Khan on being honoured with the prestigious *Global Women’s Peace Ambassador Award* by Women’s Federation for World Peace Australia.
The award was presented by WFWP President Anne Bellavance at the 2026 *Forum for Transformative Leadership* under the inspiring theme: “She Leads.”
This remarkable recognition celebrates women who are committed to promoting reconciliation, overcoming barriers, and building peace across communities and cultures. Arfa Khan was proudly recognised among six outstanding women leaders making a meaningful impact. Arfa spoke about —Balancing Individualism, Collectivism -From I and Me to We culture — Reimagining Community Through Cultural Wisdom and learning.
Community development and engagement is not a program. It is a relationship. And when we balance the individual and the collective, we create the conditions for people to shape their own future — together.This duality is not a contradiction. It is a cultural asset — if we learn to harness it intentionally.
The forum featured thought-provoking discussions, expertly moderated by Dr Shwetha Shankar, with inspiring presentations from Antha Hancocks, Fiona Demark, and Justine Martin. Romana Khan also led a powerful discussion on leadership: “Walk the Talk.”
