Child Safety Workshop Sept 2026
Last week, forty parents, grandparents, children, educators and students joined us at the Trafalgar Park Bowls Club to have some important and enriching conversations about safety, boundaries and consent.
Dr Heena Sinha, and her team from My Safe Circle, facilitated a wonderful workshop: we started with reading stories together read out by the young voices in the room that gently introduced some big ideas in comfortable and bite-sized ways.
Then the adults and kids split up; with children working in groups with diverse ages to discuss how they would respond in certain situations and be empowered upstanders. Meanwhile, the adults shared conversations they are having in their homes and had the chance to ask our experts questions about what conversations can be facilitated in their homes to protect our children.
We ended with the kids presenting their role plays with parents and it was beautiful to see the older children guiding the younger ones to speak up and share.
